Rob Colvin is a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) with Investia WPG. Born in Armstrong, BC, Rob grew up in various parts of Southern Ontario before moving to Winnipeg in 1983.
After 22 years as a store manager and District Manager for Consumers Distributing, Rob changed careers in 1996. Although the terms of employment changed, the ultimate job did not. Rather than manage managers and, indirectly, up to 350 staff at Consumers, he now helps people manage their financial lives.
Next to family, religion, and politics, money is the most important necessity in our lives. Taking the time and making the effort to discuss and to analyze goals and dreams and the capacity to attain success is ultimately what leads to financial peace of mind.
Rob is licensed in Nova Scotia, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, although his primary emphasis is in the Winnipeg area, Southern Manitoba and Southern Ontario. Rob achieved his IFIC accreditation in 1996, his insurance license in 1997, and CFP designation in 2001. Rob is also a member of Advocis, an association for professional insurance and financial advisors.
Rob is a volunteer on the board of Winnserv and the Winnserv Foundation, where he has served for about 6 years. Winnserv is a non-profit organization, running homes for mentally challenged adults.
Rob loves to fish, golf, and to collect miniature liquor bottles (full ones, of course!). He has been married for 28 years and has 2 boys, ages 23 and 16.
